LOL I’m awesome (totally not a narcissist)

So, a while ago when I had the “Older Graphic Designer” portfolio site I was contacted by a Patrick McNeil regrading his next book, The Web Designer’s Idea Book Volume 2. The gist of the story is he wanted to feature my portfolio site in his book and told me that something nice and pretty would be written about it. Of course I said yes and this is what he wrote,
“Many of the samples rely on overall minimal styles, which very effectively compliment the minimalist notion of a single-page web site. Many of the sites featured here could easily have had several pages, and the designers would have been driven to fluff up the content to fill the space. Instead, a focus on efficiency and ease of use dominates the end result, which features content that is easy to consume, quick to load and keen on satisfying the user with information she needs.
A perfect example of this is the portfolio site of Jack Bloom (Figure 1). This one-page site does many things remarkable well. For starters, it is certainly in a semi-minimalistic style. I say semi because it does have some flourish and embellishment, but overall it is bare bones. For example, the text itself is rendered in creative and beautiful ways, allowing it to serve two roles: decoration and content.”
I totally believe that did me justice and a half! Anyway, I just thought I would share this with everyone\potential employers
. And, for those non-believers I have scans from the article in the book below.
