MASS had many facets, there needed to be a consistent and authoritarian voice to the brand. It needed to challenge the typical aesthetic of maker spaces, promote unity, and juxtapose against the physical space it was housed.
Creative Direction, Brand and Interactive Design
MASS collective: Atlanta based maker space, providing educational courses and experiences ranging from leather working to Tesla-coil demonstrations.
When developing the logotype and mark, there was a driving force to create something that felt totalitarianistic. The brand was developed with a three-color system and single-width bars to create its mark, as well as subsequent visual language.
Iconography was built for a variety of uses. They were implemented into everything from member ranking to the various floors of the building, each having a specific use.
