Tell Us About Yourself?

I am Els Dekkers, I am married, and I have three children. I am also a grandmother to four beautiful grandchildren. I went to art school when I was young, and I became a window dresser. I was asked to be a model, but I didn’t choose that path of life. I’ve always regretted that choice. But do not worry, I’ll get there. It is still a big wish of mine, and look where I am right now.

Tell us about your view on aging?

I have mixed feelings about aging. On one hand, it is lovely to be able to spend your day quietly without having to do so much anymore. On the other hand, I often feel very alone. It’s hard at times to never receive a compliment or have a good conversation that allows you to broaden your horizons.
