Every Body is Beautiful

Every body is beautiful. I find it strange that every time I walk by a lingerie store in the shopping streets, I mostly see campaign images of young models with flawless bodies.

Yet, when I look around at the women walking by, I can tell, through their clothing, that most of them don’t have model bodies.

There’s nothing wrong with having a model body—it’s beautiful. I was a model myself once, and thanks to my parents, I inherited the right genes and never had to work for it. And to this day, I still don’t.

Those lingerie campaign images are stunning, and of course, they show how a lingerie set could look—but most likely, it won’t look that way on you. Luckily, there are brands out there that embrace body inclusivity—whether you’re curvy, flat, voluptuous, with dimples, rolls, and all those “so-called imperfections” that models in campaigns (who are often heavily photoshopped and airbrushed) don’t seem to have.

Understatement Underwear reached out to me for a collaboration. I’ve never been shy, and I often stand in my underwear in the bedroom recording content, so the request didn’t come as a surprise. Still, I took a moment to think—am I going to do this, and if so, why? It didn’t take long for me to say an enthusiastic “yes” for two reasons.
