Aface is a face. And makeup is makeup, right? But that’s different from how it actually works. Your skin changes as you age, and the makeup tricks that used to work for you may not have the same effect after your forties. Over the years, the texture of your skin evolves, and those little wrinkles can become a challenge. I often collaborate with makeup artists, and it can be tricky to explain, especially when the artist themselves doesn’t have older skin. Applying makeup is different for mature skin, requiring a unique approach and understanding.

But not with Hannah Rosie. With just a few words, I explain what I like and what I don’t. Not too heavy, no pancake, no eyeshadow, no heavy shadows, but instead natural, fresh, and cheerful. Hannah Rose builds it up slowly with the recently launched Hyper Real Serumizer, a lip conditioner, and a refreshing eye cream. Followed by the new concealer, Every Wear Face Pen, which she kindly explained to me.

I first discovered MAC Cosmetics when I frequently traveled to the United States for modeling gigs. At that time, it wasn’t yet available in Europe. My love for MAC has never wavered since then. Even after all these years, I still use their matte lipsticks almost daily. The shade has changed over time, though, from Ruby Woo to Tropic Tonic.

But back to my wonderful makeup experience with Hannah Rose. After the Every Wear Face Pen, a gorgeous cream blush follows in the shade. “That’s Peachy.” Then, a professional meticulously applies a beautiful powder eyebrow product (as I struggle with applying eyebrow products to my over-plucked 80s brows). A touch of bronzer and a bit of mascara complete the look, and that’s all.

It is pretty obvious that I have a preference for coral shades. What I love about coral is that you can often use the shade for both blush and lips. It’s a bit different with a red shade. Hannah allows me to choose my favorite colors for the blush, and I opt for a cream blush. Personally, I find a cream blush more beautiful than a powder blush. It gives a softer effect and doesn’t settle as much into fine lines. The lip shade Tropic Tonic has been a favorite for a while, and no, I didn’t want to try any other color.

When I look in the mirror after the delightful explanation of the products, I am genuinely satisfied. Sometimes you don’t even recognize yourself when someone else does your makeup. It’s logical because someone else, especially a professional, applies makeup differently than you would. And someone else also looks at you with different eyes. So, it’s quite enlightening to see yourself through the eyes of another person.

I remain a big fan of MAC cosmetics, without a doubt. What caught my attention is that they have introduced many new products in recent years. The recently launched skincare products are beautiful, and there is plenty of choice in foundations for mature skin.

I hope I can visit again soon, and maybe I’ll go for a completely different look, which would be fun to try out.
